LOBLOLLY HOUSE
Named after the tall pines it mimics, the Loblolly House was constructed as a pre-frabricated home that depicts the landscape features of the site. The house, designed by architects Stephen Kieran and James Timberlake, is positioned between densely populated pine trees and the Chesapeake Bay. The rain screen panels and the way in which the building is lifted from the ground blends the house with the tall trees in the background. The horizonline of the bay formed the flexible window system.
