Roxbury Crossing Station is located at the intersection of 1400 Tremont Street and west of 1200 Columbus Avenue in Roxbury, MA. The proposal aims to create a station that promotes pedestrian flow and enhances the surrounding community members. A unique structure that has a strong presence will make an impact on the users’ memories. Therefore, the new MBTA stop will create a welcoming center for the newly developed parcel 25 complex. 

The programmatic uses will be community amenities and the public realm. Community amenities will include stores, community organization centers, and recreational opportunities. The public realm will focus on the idea of an “outdoor room” streetscape. 

An urban architectural art piece will attract people to this area and give the locals a sense of identity. This structure is comprised of mainly structural steel and a curtain wall system. The design encouranges the development of the Southwest Corridor by extending the landscape behind the station. The bike path gives a safer access route for pedestrian travelers. This proposal aims to create an oasis for the locals and their neighbors nearby in the central core of Boston.
